Most epic find of the day/week/month… The Book Cover Archive. I’ve already spent way too much time browsing and oogling over all the beautiful book covers. Almost makes you want to reconsider “don’t judge a book by its cover”, does it not?
I’m about 3 weeks away from graduating university and while I’ve been fortunate enough to have had really awesome reading lists this year, I cannot wait to read something that I chose and not something I’m forced to read. This website is entirely unhealthy for me as it’s starting to make me reconsider all the books on my “To Read” list.

I went to the Geoff Butler exhibition at my university’s art gallery last weekend. Since we’re a relatively small university and our Art department is pretty much non existent (I had to ‘create’ my own course so that I could minor in Art; appalling, I know) the gallery only has a few exhibitions throughout the year which is kind of sad. I love going to art galleries and I find it’s always interesting to see a visual representation of what’s going on in others’ minds.

I’m afraid I’ve become quite addicted to Skins. It’s fantastical! (Though I’ve only finished up to the end of series 2, so don’t tell me what happens in series 3.) One of the first characters who intrigued me was Effy played by Kaya Scodelario. While Effy isn’t one of the main characters of the first two series, I always looked forward to seeing segments with her. I think that Kaya Scodelario is extremely talented; for a character who pretty much doesn’t speak for two whole series, she was still able to give Effy depth, emotion, and some special little quirks. I love that she’s able to communicate in such an honest way with the audience, and I think Kaya has a very instinctive approach to acting.
After a little research into Miss Scodelario, I found she’s also signed to Models 1 which intrigued me. And I stumbled upon a stunning photoshoot she’d done. Kaya has a very natural beauty and these photos are quite striking (both in terms of her beauty and in terms of the actual art of photography itself) so I had to share.

This is going to be short and sweet, as it’s 3AM, I’m wide awake and trying to make myself tired enough to fall asleep. Blessed insomnia.
I meant to post this a little earlier (a.k.a. on the actual day it was online), but it slipped my mind between thesis writing and mass cram sessions… How awesome was Google’s logo design for the first day of spring? I really liked it; it was quite possibly one of my favourites they’ve done. It had a very organic quality to it, and I loved that they referenced The Very Hungry Caterpillar since March 20th also happened to be the book’s 40th anniversary.

It rained today. While that may not seem all that exciting to anyone else, it was for me. It meant that for once it was FINALLY over 0 degrees outside. Okay, my MacBook is telling me it’s only 1 degree, but that’s not freezing, so it’s an improvement!
It’s now 7:30PM; out my window I can see the sun setting on the dykes… and I’m just giddy. It’s finally spring! (Don’t get me wrong, I love winter, but spring is my favourite season of all.) So in honour of sunshine, rain, and puddles, I felt the need to spread my general excitement and positive energy via some pretty spring pictures I’ve been collecting for the past few weeks.
AND because I’m a huge nerd and when I get in certain “moods”, I like to make mixes. So I’ve included a few songs that are part of my “Spring into Spring with Sunshine, Bunnies and Chocolate” mix in iTunes.
