Just A Minute… In August 2009

Finishing… the first course – Conceptual Design – towards my design degree at the beginning of this month! It was a busy 6 weeks, but it was amazing. And all my hard work paid off because I just discovered today that I got an A! I’m really proud of myself.
Visiting… The extended family is here for a few days to visit the brother (who’s home for a few weeks). Fortunately, we have a very small family, otherwise I’m sure much more chaos would ensue.
Traveling… The mother, father, brother and I took a 4 day road trip last week to the States for shopping and roller coastering. Which brings me to…
Screaming… my lunges out at Cedar Point, a massive amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio with some of the largest roller coasters in the world. Thought I was going to crap my pants a few times, but it was worth it. Nothing beats plummeting hundreds of feet straight down towards the ground at unnaturally fast speeds.
Shopping… Shopping, shopping, and more shopping! Going to the States is so bad for my wallet. I always spend way too much. I can’t help it though; they have so much great stuff there! I may or may not have bought three pairs of shoes. It was bad, but so, so good.
Pianoing… I’ve dug out some of my “for fun” sheet music and have been jamming away. A few favourites that keep popping up on my music stand are Etta James’ In A Sentimental Mood and Christina Aguilera’s Walk Away. Two very different types of blues. Both equally as fun to play.
Crushing… on Tom Felton. Draco Malfoy does absolutely nothing for me, but Tom is super dreamy. Thanks to an LJ friend, I got his most recent EP and gosh, his voice is dreamy.
.MP4ing…i Road trips call for movies! I filled my iPod with a bunch of great films to pass the time during the long drive from all the way up here, to all the way down to Ohio. (Which I suppose it’s really that far “down” geographically. But it was south enough to make me cry for my beloved cool weather.) Highlights of the trip included I Love You, Man (I’m marrying Jason Segal. No one can stop me) and Sunshine Cleaning (Emily Blunt can do no wrong).
Wearing… Skinny jeans! It’s a miracle. I haven’t bought a pair of jeans since 2005. That’s pathetic, I know. And kind of disturbing. But I just get so frustrated trying to find a pair that fits, that I usually give up before finding anything. But I found, not only a pair of jeans, but a pair of skinny jeans that fit, are comfortable and look good. So I bought a pair in black and another in blue. Krissy: 1, Crimes against fashion: 0! Victory is sweet and slightly more fashionable than I was expecting.
Welcoming… ShimmerLikeGold.org into my life! Things are still in a bit of disarray around here, but I’m really excited to get back on track. Regular scheduled programming resumes Monday.
