I’m baaaack! And I come bearing more fashion-y goodness! This time from London Fashion Week. Like I mentioned in my last post, I’m going to recap my three favourite collections that were shown last week. My first pick of the ‘week’ is Leulla.
Known for being super girlie, Leulla’s Spring collection is no disappointment. Girlish details, and super feminine shapes with a slight 60’s vibe are a-plenty. And with its sugary sweet palette of baby blues, pale pinks, banana yellows and a light coral, this collection is plum full of sweetness from head to toe.

Well, we’ve arrived at the final stop on our New York Fashion Week adventure! I can hardly believe how fast this week has flown by! And while I really should be focusing my energy on my mountains upon mountains upon mountains of school work, I just can’t help myself; I’m enjoying this far too much. To think, if this was my life every day instead of constantly studying… My life would be like a fairy tale.
But back to fashion, and the final collection (and my favourite) in my Top 5 from NYFW… J. Mendel, whose collection, in a way, is also a bit like a fairy tale. On that note, I invite you to go forth on a journey to once upon a time…

I really struggled with deciding which designer I should feature for the last spot in my ‘Top 5 of New York Fashion Week’. (Though technically, this isn’t the last spot; I saved my favourite for last.) I was torn between showcasing something I adored and that really meshed with my personal style, but was similar to another collection I’d posted earlier this week, versus sharing a collection that I wouldn’t necessarily wear, but that I thought was very unique and interesting. In the end, I went with the later. While I do like the more aesthetically pleasing things in life, I’m also a really big advocate of things that have purpose, a deeper meaning, or an individual story. (And I truly hope that shows through here on my blog; I do try very hard to write about things that I fall in love with both because they’re visually stimulating, and also because they’re inspirational in one way or another.)
But alas, I digress. So without further adue, onto the 4th stop of the week… Malandrino.

The third stop in this week’s New York Fashion Week marathon/extravaganza is… Vera Wang! Predictable pick? Yeah, you caught me. But I’m like a crow; it sees something glittery and it immediately dives for it. I see something black and white, and I’m all over it. (Bonus points if it’s sparkley and/or shiny. I like that too. :P) I can’t help it. My name is Krissy and I’m a black-and-white-a-holic.
There. Such a relief to have that out in the open. And now I can blissfully continue on to my happy place of black, white, and sparkleyness courtesy of the lovely Miss Vera Wang (who I also think is one of the most awesome people ever and I kind of want her to be my BFF).

The second stop on the New York Fashion Week train is… Nanette Lepore! I was actually very pleasantly surprised with this collection as I found her Fall 2009 RTW collection a bit dull. But her Spring 2010 RTW collection has taken a complete 360 degree turn from bland to bold, bright, and beaming!
