I Heart… Autumn

Hello, autumn! Boy, am I glad to see you! After the scorching summer heat and nasty black flies, you’re a sight for sore eyes. So farewell until next year, summer, because I’m quite content with the cooler weather.

I come from a family where autumn is generally loathed simply because it means winter is on its way. And I know on the whole, autumn isn’t really a favourite amongst the general population. But personally, autumn is my favourite season. It’s a welcome relief from the hot sun. It brings crisp mornings with the first hint of frost of the grass. Adding a snuggly quilt to your bed. Breaking out chunky knitted sweaters from the back of your closet. ♥

So as an ode to my favourite season, proof that not everything is bad about it. As far as colour is concerned, autumn is a feast for the eyes. Plus, last week, Poppytalk hosted Autumn Colour Week and I didn’t have a chance to participate until now. Instead of doing a daily digest of autumn colours, this is just one big collection of browns, yellows, reds, oranges, and greens.

I really like autumn! I mean, it’s not my favorite season (I think my favorite is spring) but it’s definitely my second favorite. I love how the leaves change color!

I really like spring, too. I think if it didn’t come bearing so much rain, I might like it a little more. But I don’t like rain. At all. :P

That’s a gorgeous collection of pictures! Autumn is my favorite season, too, or at least it used to be because the temperature was perfect, the trees were picturesque, and my birthday’s in the fall. :p Now that I’ve moved to Chicago, however, it’s like… the leaves are still all green, but it feels like winter, why is that?! We even had a freeze warning yesterday… I suppose I’ll just have to get used to colder autumns than normal.

Aw, so pretty, great colors. Awesome season but it doesn’t last long enough for me… it’s like a week long where I live, haha. Happy Thanksgiving, my fellow Canadian! :]

I actually know what you mean. This morning I woke up and the ground was covered in frost! I love winter, but come on! It’s so true that we only have two seasons in Canada. Spring and winter. XD

Happy belated turkey day! :D :D

I think I love all the seasons, especially when I sick of the last one and am ready for the next one. I have to say though winter is my least loved because of high heating bills. Blah on bills.

But the colors are lovely and I’m loving this cool but not too cold weather.

I love autumn! I just wish it existed here in Florida. It’s so hot! I miss wearing my sweaters and boots. :/ The photographs you posted are so beautiful. I love autumn colors. They’re so calm and royal.

You know, I’ve seen so many pictures of cute shoes that match a sea of fall foliage and I can’t get enough of them. Every time that I see a pile of leaves and I’m wearing cute ballet flats I’m tempted to recreate one of these pictures– maybe I will this year!

As always, you do such a nice job of compiling images that give a really nice feel to the subject at hand; in this case— fall.

I really love that blurry picture of the green tutu with white Christmas lights. I don’t know why, I just find it aesthetically pleasing.

If you do, you’ll have to be sure to share the picture! There’s just something about taking pictures of your shoes that’s quite endearing.

And thank you, my dear! ♥ I’m glad you think so. :D
