I Heart… Pringle of Scotland (Spring 2010 RTW)

Unfortunately, this post is coming a wee bit (okay, a lot) later than originally intended. Bad Krissy, bad! I would send myself to my room without dinner, but I don’t really think that would accomplish anything. (Also, I have a big box of animals crackers hidden under my bed, so the effort would be a smidge redundant, though quite delicious. :P Animal crackers in my soup, monkeys and lions loop-de-loop…)

Back on topic, though. I come bearing more prettiness from ‘Fashion Month’ – because really, after a week in NYC, a week in London, a week in Paris, and a week in Milan, it should be called Fashion Month, not Fashion Week. Clearly these designers, while incredibly, incredibly brilliant do not understand a timeless staple of the human race known as the calendar (oooo! aaaah!) – this time in the form of… Pringle of Scotland!

Well, hello there chunky knitwear! There’s something so endearing and personal about knitwear. I think because when I was younger, my aunt would knit me sweaters all the time, so I think I just associate them with love, family, warmth, all that warm and fuzzy stuff. So I’m always very drawn to things that look hand-crafted. They’re made with love! Awww!

Frida Gustavsson
So soft and pretty.

So adorable! Of the collection, I think this is my favourite piece. It has a very simple silhouette, but it has so many eye-catching little details.

Anastasia Kuznetsova

Lyndsey Scott
Jacket/cape-thing of upmost feirce-ness.

Malene Knudsen

Kelsey Van Mook

I love the layered hemline of this dress. It’s so geometrically strict (made of square-shaped pieces of fabric), but even with such a harsh shapes, it still holds a lot of beauty and grace.

Diana Farkhullina

This is so adorable, I just want to pinch its non-existent cheeks! I love the subtle texturing and shaping on the top, and the way the skirt floats around her hips. Very lovely and dreamy.

Dorothea Barth Jorgensen
More floaty skirt love, but in a lovely carmel-y brown.

Katie Fogarty

Ruffle love!

Constance Jablonski

I’m reminded of this peep-holed knitted poncho I had when I was seven. I loved that thing so much, the wool had shredded away until it it was no more than a pile of string. Oh, the nostalgia. … end trip down memory lane. I think this is super fun. It adds a little whimsy to an otherwise run-of-the-mill gray dress.

Iris Van Berne
Simple, classy, elegant. If I could pull off banana yellow, I’d wear this. (Pastels hate me. It’s a known fact.)

Anya Kazakova
I’m not a huge fan of fur, fake or otherwise. I just don’t really like it. It seems stuffy and reminds me of stuffy old grandmas who wear caked on foundation and smell like a closet. But I like this. (As much as I can like something in fur, that is.) It’s like high-end fashionista meets Pocahontas.

Imogen Morris Clarke

I like this take on the classic ‘little black dress’. It’s very casual but still polished and sophisticated.

Frida Gustavsson

Hanne Gaby Odiele

Tone-on-tone at its very best with lots of subtle patterning to energize the piece.

Anna de Rijk

More fantastic tone-on-tone action. (This collection rocks the tone-on-tone look. Spot on!) Loving the mixture of matte versus shiny versus metallic; it really adds interest and a touch of glamour to an otherwise monochromatic ensemble.

Anabela Belikova

I adore how light, airy and easy-going this line is. Usually you associate knit-wear with winter and colder weather, but I think they’ve captured the freshness and bounce of the spring quite well, and have really transformed something with such a closed-box association into something much more versatile. This collection really exudes relaxed chic to me. It’s cozy and snugly, but it still has a high level of sophistication and femininity. High five, Pringle of Scotland. High five.

That would be very impractical, indeed! I suppose for the sake of this collection, I’m glad I live in Canada… the land of endless winter where knits can be worn year round! haha

I love knitwear… and I’m glad I live in the land of endless winter for that reason, also, hehe.
It is indeed a very relaxed chic snuggly collection. Pretty.

Goooorgeous. I only wish it were warm enough to wear any of that!

P.S. Meant to say this on my last comment, but I found you again through Manda’s blog. Love the new domain name (!!), but what happened to your old one?

Thanks! And about the old domain… I had some personal/offline issues with the old domain, so that’s why there was the change. That, and I’d been wanting a new shiny domain for my blog for a long time, and it seemed like the right time to finally get one. :D
