Blog Lovin’

Imagine my delight to wake up this morning and find a message from Fifi at Previously Owned that she’d passed a lovely blog award onto me. On a day that I’ve been feeling quite under the weather, she definitely has helped turn things around and put a smile on my face and a bounce in my step. Thank you so much! ♥

In the spirit of the Beautiful & Gorgeous Blogger Award, I have to pass along the award to 7 others whose blogs I love, and share 7 things people might find interesting. If you find excessive pancake eating, book gushing, and childhood stories about Halloween even remotely entertaining, this is the blog entry for you, my friend! ;D If none of that sounds even mildly amusing, at least read on for some much more awesome blogs that I think you should visit and love as much as I do.

Beautiful & Gorgeous Blog Award

Seven Things (that may or may not be interesting depending on who you ask):

1. I can play a chromatic scale using every single note on the piano (88 keys) from the lowest to highest note in less than 10 seconds.

2. Blueberry pancakes are my favourite food. When I was 7 (or maybe 8) I ate 29 of them in one sitting. Suffice to say, I did not eat for the remainder of the day.

3. My blog title comes from one of my favourite songs – Let It Take You – by my all-time favourite band: Goldfrapp.

They sail light, ocean
Sail this night, ocean
Filling my sleep so gently
Just let it take you
Just let it steer
They sail light, ocean
Sail this night, ocean
Shimmer like gold, they’re singing
Filling my sleep so gently
Just let it take you
Just let it steer
Just let it take you
This is easy

4. I watch reruns of The O.C. on television every day at lunch time. Totally my guilty pleasure. I blame CityTV for airing the episodes right at 1PM when I eat.

5. My favourite books of all-time are The Virgin Suicides (by Jeffrey Eugenides), The Bell Jar (by Sylvia Plath), The Hours (by Michael Cunningham), White Oleander (by Janet Fitch), Veronika Decides to Die (by Paulo Coelho), Running with Scissors (by Augusten Burroughs) and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass (by Lewis Carroll).i

6. The first movie I ever saw in theatres was Beauty and the Beast with my Dad.

7. My first Halloween, I dressed up like a bunny. My second Halloween, I dressed up like a bunny again. My third Halloween, my parents had to force me to dress up like something other than a bunnyii. I was a mouse. Which is pretty much a bunny, only with stubbier ears and a stringy tail instead of a cotton ball-y one.

And on a slightly less related note, I’m trying out a nifty related posts WP plugin. See below. Ooooh. Aaahh. Not 100% sure if I like it just yet, but we shall see in time. I only wish it were customizable as I’d rather it not be on the main page of my blog, just shown with each individual entry. Thoughts? Yay/Nay?

  1. I honestly thought I could condense that list a lot more than I did. XD It could easily be about 20 books longer, too. (»)
  2. Primarily because the costume didn’t fit any more, and also because they thought it was important I developed other interests outside of just bunnies (»)

Thanks, Morgan! ♥

It was quite the record indeed. I don’t think I could ever eat that many again. Because that was A LOT of pancakes. I probably couldn’t even eat 10 in one sitting now even if I tried really hard. XD

Aww congrats on your award, well deserved! And thank you for giving one to me too :D

I think it is uber cute that you wanted to be a bunny every halloween.

My first film was Little Mermaid, high five at Disney films being our first!

I’m still flabbergasted over you eating 29 pancakes, that is amazing, i’d have been ill.

No problem-o, favourite Alice! :P

Yes, I had a pretty one-track mind when I was little. I was very obsessed with bunnies. Still am, obviously, but everything had to be bunnies when I was younger. :P

Aww, the Little Mermaid! I loved that one too. ♥ Disney films were the best back in the day. I feel bad for the kids of today. All they get is Hannah Montana and all those other crazy people.

I’m surprised I wasn’t sick, actually. I definitely would be if I ever attempted eating that many pancakes ever again. I guess I just had a bottomless stomach when I was little. Eventually it caught up to me, unfortunately. :P

That bunny story is so adorable. It made me smile for real. I especially liked the footnote.

29 pancakes, ohhhh my god. D: I feel sick just thinking about that!
