Things That Make Me Happy… on November 4, 2009

New hand soap in the powder room that smells like pomegranate.

Changing the page on my calendar to find an Alice in Wonderland illustration for this month.

The first frost of the season.

Digging out my fluffy slippers to keep my toes warm.

Eating cranberry sauce when it’s not Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Diving into my shiny new Chanel book for the first time.

Watching the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament and feeling smart when I know a lot of the answers.

Waking up to silly text messages from friends about the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament.

My dad bringing me home a lollipop from work like he used to do when I was 4-5 years old.

The song ‘Samskeyti’ by Sigur Rós.

I also just want to take a quick moment to say “Thank you!” to Jenaveve who helped me figure out where I was headed with this entry. It was her comment that made me think, and remember just why I started doing this in the first place: to appreciate the small things in life. I revisited some of my old, old entries on Livejournal and revived Things That Make Me Happy from its grave.

What’s making you feel all warm and squishy inside these days?

Krissy

What a beautiful and peaceful song and aw, so cute that your dad brought you home a lollipop. I love digging out snuggly fluffy slippers.

Isn’t it though? I melted into a puddle of goo when he handed it to me. ♥

Slippers are so awesome. I’m always excited when it’s winter and I can wear them again without suffocating my feet.

Things that made me smile today: The warmth and the blue clear sky; Trying to come up with a name for my new band; Drawing and writing during classes; Watching Sin City; Getting an A in two different college papers; Seeing my best friend.

[P.S.: Blog award for you on my latest post. Check it out.]

Yay fluffy slippers!!

A thing that really makes me happy is being well, because being sick right now is beyond sucky.

Thanks! I love it so much! I think it’s my favourite picture from the calendar. Though the whole calendar is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. It’s vintage Disney posters. :D
