Waltz of the Snowflakes

I’ve been so wrapped up with university lately that I haven’t had the time to properly prepare myself for the holidays just yet. Appalling, I know, with only a little over a week before the big day. I raided my closet for Christmas decorations this afternoon and look what I found…

Winter Wonderland

… my beloved Care Bears snow globe! ♥ It doesn’t match any of my parents’ Christmas decorations, but I’ve positioned it on our coffee table none the less as it has a special place in my heart. My best friend gave it to me one Christmas when I was eight or nine, and I put it out every year. It’s just one of those special trinkets I’ll always hang on to.

Diamonds in Her Hair

And what would the Christmas season be without Tchaichovsky’s Nutcracker? It’s such a beautiful suite, and it always puts me in the holiday spirit. Waltz of the Flowers is my favourite. I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to see a ballet production of it this season as I usually do. I’m hoping they’ll air it on television.

What puts you in that happy Christmassy state of mind? Do you have any special holiday traditions?

That’s so weird… I too have a snow globe that I got when I was 8 or 9 from a best friend. Yours is so cute, love the care bears.

Aww, that has to be cutest snow globe I’ve seen! My family and friends have never been that big on Christmas, but I always love listening to holiday music around this time of year — it’s the only thing that really gets me into the Christmassy mood.

I am in so in love with that snow globe, oh-my-god. I used to collect them from around the world when my parents would travel and bring them home to me.

Sadly, a lot of them leaked out and were no longer my favorites so I got rid of them. But…if I had one like that, my my– I’d be so happy.

Brett took me to see The Nutcracker ballet on our first Christmas together. It was simply gorgeous. And I knew then that I could love him fully because he was so into the beauty of it. :)

Merry Christmas, lady!

Aw, that’s such a cute thing to collect! It’s too bad many of yours leaked. :( I’ve always found snow globes so lovely. Perhaps maybe I should start a collection. It always seems strange to just up and start collecting something though.

If I was ever in doubt of the two of you, him taking you to the Nutcracker ballet only solidifies it! haha. See, you are meant to be! Now where is my prince charming to take me to the ballet? :P

Happy Christmas, lovely! ♥

The Care Bear snow globe is amazing! I love the Care Bears. I never really got into the Nutcracker ballet, but I watched the movie. I love listing to Christmas carols and watching Holiday movies this time of year.

Awww :D that snow globe is cute, those decorations, that are filled with more memories than perhaps regular beauty are the best to have.

I don’t think I have any traditions for Christmas, I don’t think I will feel too christmassy till the 24th.

Aww! *sends you holiday cheer* :D I know you’ve been super duper busy though, so I understand the stress. Though I hope it won’t be too terrible and even with everything you have to do, you’ll get to enjoy the holidays. :D

I have an Olympus FE-200 camera. Though I do not recommend it AT ALL. I’ve only had it about 2 years and it barely works any more. It was cheap though, so I guess it serves me right. :P
