I ♥ Pre-Fall 2010 Collections

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… I’m sorry, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make a super duper cheesy holiday reference. I’m a winter/holidays/Christmas fiend. You’ve been warned. It just spews out without my even thinking about it properly. Come to think of it, I think I’d make a good elf. Santa, are you hiring for December 2010?

Play and excessive holiday cheer aside, I’m delighted that once again, the designers are rolling out the big stops for their Pre-Fall collections. The perfect Christmas ‘gift’. Forget the gingerbread cookies and plum pudding, I’m drooling all over this season’s fashion instead. Here’s a quick peek into my top 10 Pre-Fall 2010 collections.

Zac Posen Zac Posen Zac Posen

Whimiscal storybook illustration style printed fabrics.

Pringle of Scotland Pringle of Scotland Pringle of Scotland
9. Pringle of Scotland
Super chunky and cozy knitwear.

Temperley London Temperley London Temperley London
8. Temperley London
Girly, 70′s bohemian vibe. (Plus: ruffles!)

Donna Karan Donna Karan Donna Karan
7. Donna Karan
Stunning draping and ruching, with a luxurious colour palette of rich olives, cool turquoises and deep plums.

Vera Wang Vera Wang Vera Wang
6. Vera Wang
My girl Vera continues to rock the grey/black combo with trendy blazers, long t-shirts and leggings.

Oscar de la Renta Oscar de la Renta Oscar de la Renta
5. Oscar de la Renta
Saturated yellows and oranges splashed across feminine silhouettes with an applique and quilt-esque approach

Burberry Prorsum Burberry Prorsum Burberry Prorsum
4. Burberry Prorsum
Sleek, sophisticated, dreamy, and all with a structured almost uniform-chic edge. Burberry, don’t ever change!

Carolina Herrera Carolina Herrera Carolina Herrera
3. Carolina Herrera
Bold geometric patterns contrast with vibrant primary colours. It’s like these dresses stepped out of a modernist painting.

Diane von Furstenberg Diane von Furstenberg Diane von Furstenberg
2. Diane von Furstenberg
Floaty trim and sequins that flutter like a feather from head to toe.

Honourable mentions: Eli Tahari’s super chunky necklaces and accentuated necklines, DKNY’s nautical theme in red, Doo.Ri’s winter wonderland inspired attire, Zero + Maria Cornejo’s animal face print fabric, and Jason Wu’s two-toned shoulders.

… wait a minute. No Chanel? I’m afraid for the very first time, I’m just not enthused by the collection. Unfortunately, it’s a little too costumey for me. Don’t fret, Mr. Legerfeld – I still love you.

And because I’m nothing if not predictable… I’ve saved the best for last. Check in later next week for my two favourite Pre-Fall collections. Yes, two. I was so in love with both for entirely different reasons, that I couldn’t pick a number 1. So these two are tied for first place. Stay tuned. ;)

Oh, gorgeousness! I love that Vera Wang and Burberry Prorsum
have pieces that look like you could actually wear them in real life (if you could afford them). That orange Oscar de la Renta is stunning! I would try and choose a favorite among these but I can’t, all too lovely! Can’t wait for your tied 1st place post ;]

The middle outfits in #8 and #4 are bad ass. I’d feel like a Greek goddess in that dress and the shoes are hott.

I still haven’t checked any of these collections properly (shame on me), but after your quick preview I think the time has come! Burberry! <3

Sooo… I like number 8, the first outfit of number 9, the 3rd dress of number 7, … oh well, I like too many things I think. xD
