Things That Make Me Happy… In January 2010

Masked Home is where your cat is

Birman cats.

Listening to music I haven’t listened to in a long, long time and falling in love with it all over again.

Bright Star. ♥ Again. (Why yes, I am obsessed!)

Cliched sailor-style tattoos.

The colour magenta.

Christmas lights that are still on in the middle of January.

Brilliant ideas in the middle of the night.

Homemade blueberry muffins fresh from the oven when the tops are still crunchy.

Snow! (Snow never gets old in my books, and is always happiness inducing.)

Receiving a response to a message I sent Coco Rocha. “Oh you’re sweet. I’ll tweet about it after 7pm! Xoxo” Saving that forever!

Eating so many Sweet Tarts your tongue becomes tingly for hours.

Discovering my Dad also likes Natalie Portman.

What made you feel all warm and squishy inside this month?

It totally made my day! I was beaming! :D

That he does! It was a pleasant surprise discovering he liked Natalie Portman, and lots of other people & movies that I also love. I guess I now know who I get my love of movies from. :D

Hahaha awww I love that photo. I have this little plaque I got at a thrift store that says “A Home is not a Home Without a Cat!”

Aw! Now if only I actually had a cat… I suppose if I put up this poster without one, I might get confused stares.

That is so cool that you got a response from Coco Rocha! And that is why twitter is awesome… you can actually communicate with people you admire.
Hehe, it is always so funny discovering stuff like that about your parents… because it is either really strange or so awesome.

It is! I don’t usually send messages to “celebrities”, and actually, this was the first time I ever did… and she responded! Twice! And was super sweet, too. Totally brightened my day. :D

Usually, I just mock my parents’ taste in things. Because that’s my duty as their child. :P So I was quite taken aback when my Dad liked similar things as I do. It was quite a pleasant discovery.

Aww! You need a portable kitchen to carry around with you. Like an easy bake oven. But human sized. XD

Brilliant ideas in the middle of the night are the best! I sometimes wake up, mind racing, to reach over and scrawl a story idea down madly in a little journal beside my bed. When, I wake up, I always feel so proud of myself!

I don’t know what I’d do without a journal beside my bed. Some of my best ideas come in the middle of the night. Only of the only perks of insomnia. haha

What made you feel all warm and squishy inside this month?
Definitely getting into designing all over again; getting a phone call from my boyfriend randomly just so he could tell me he loves me; the feeling that I have accomplished something (learning guitar, french language); starting second semester of college and knowing exactly where I am going.

Krissy » February 3rd, 2010

Aw, lots of wonderful things! :D Good luck with the guitar, french and your second semester!

Blueberry muffins! YUM! Now I’m craving for one, thank you! I’ve yet to download Bright Star but like I’ve already said on Twitter, thank you so much for the recommendation! And props to Morgan too, of course! :D

And aww…lucky girl! That’s so awesome that she replied! I’m sure I’ll flip out if that happened to me too! :D

Haha, sorry! I hope you found a nice yummy muffin to satisfy your craving though. ;)

I hope you like Bright Star when you get the chance to watch it. I think you will. :)

I was so so excited when I got her reply! I don’t usually send messages to the ‘celebrities’ I follow on twitter, this was the first one… and she responded twice! :D It made my entire day. ♥

Out of your list, I must say that snow and ideas happening in the middle of the night are my favorite, especially snow, it's so pretty n__n

I love listening to old music and rediscovering why I fell in love with it in the first place and I love discovering new music and falling in love with that too…..so my music collection is ever expanding.

Krissy » February 3rd, 2010

Exactly! I love finding and discovering new music, but because it’s such a constant process, sometimes artists I was once madly in love with get a bit ‘replaced’ by new things. So I have to go back in and re-fall in love.

Your Bright Star obsession makes me really want to see what it’s like! Have you watched The Piano? How would you compare the two?

Since you also got your mum into TBBT, it sounds like your parents have similar tastes to yours! You should introduce them to more awesomeness. :D

Krissy » February 3rd, 2010

I suppose I need to calm down the Bright Star obsession, eh? It’s kind of consumed me. Haha. I actually haven’t seen The Piano before, but it’s on my list of movies to watch ASAP. I’m a new Jane Campion fan.

It actually really, really surprised me that my mom liked TBBT as she and I really have nothing in common in terms of tv/movies/whatnot, in that she doesn’t like tv/movies/whatnot. :P So I’ll consider that a major victory with her. My dad on the other hand, he could handle the awesomeness… so I’m on it. :P
