Splash of Imagination

Sasha Pivovarova for Interview, February 2010

“I’ve been making a list of the things they don’t teach you at school. They don’t teach you how to love somebody. They don’t teach you how to be famous. They don’t teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don’t teach you how to walk away from someone you don’t love any longer. They don’t teach you how to know what’s going on in someone else’s mind. They don’t teach you what to say to someone who’s dying. Honestly, they don’t teach you anything important.”
~ Neil Gaiman

Just a quick note to say, I’m back in the learning game again. University started up for me again on Monday, so if I’m not as frequent around the blogosphere for the next few months, you’ll know why. :) Of course, I will 100% try to keep on top of things.

Otherwise, I’m going to go make like a sponge and fill my reservoirs with as much inspiration as they will hold! At the moment, the above photoshoot of the stunning Sasha Pivovarova is the source of much awe and minor obsession for me. In a nut shell, I think it’s pretty darn awesome and it makes me want to let loose and splash my ideas all over the place!i

P.S. For all those little bursts of inspiring things that don’t make it onto the blog, you can follow me on Tumblr; I’m always procrastinating away on there. ;)

  1. It’s also tempting me to doodle little eyelashes on my glasses just for fun. I won’t though. Chanel deserves better. (»)

I don’t find them in any specific place. Just from browsing around and I collect all the ones I like in a text document. :) I also document favourite quotations when I’m reading too. Sorry that’s not very helpful!

What a pleasant coincidence! :D While I’m not necessarily a fan of his books, I do think he’s very wise. At least from the quotations of his I’ve read before. He’s very frank.

I’ve never heard that quote before. They teach you how to not get short changed, thats something right?

I love the images!

Krissy you’re the best. I shall deny it no longer. I love that quote like a fat kid loves cake.

Haha, I try! ;D (And also: aww, thank you!)

That quotation makes me equally as happy. While I don’t necessarily like Neil Gaiman’s books, you can’t deny his genius.
