Everything is Extraordinary

“In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.”

Girl At Window

Bird Cage

Marie Antoinette

Sheet Music

Bed

Curtains & Windows

Berthe Morisot

Window

Items on a Shelf

Toy Horse

Cabbage

Star Stickers

Just a handful of exceptionally lovely images that have struck my fancy lately. (I just noticed there seems to be a small ‘windows’ theme running through many of them. I wonder what that says about me?) Most were found via Tumblr, my new obsession. Well, not really new, but I can’t quite stray too far from it any more. It’s officially replaced We Heart It for me and browsing it has also become my favourite form of procrastination. I’m at Shimmer Like Gold (for random bursts of beautiful things), This Is My Happy Face (my daily happiness log), and Moonwalk Outfit (a massive ongoing mixtape). Is anyone else on Tumblr?

I also wanted to quickly apologize for the slow down in updates here, and for being a bit behind on reading everyone’s blogs. This last week has been so hectic that I feel like I barely have a moment to sit down. And when I do, I want nothing more than to crash in front of the television and watch Skins or hockey. So please bare with me. A more substantial update will be coming in the next day or so. :)

Ah I have felt the same recently, a little under the weather and lacking in motivation but these photos are so beautiful, they make me feel better. I think I just need to keep telling myself that spring is nearly here! & Marie Antoinette <3

It must be something going around then if it’s struck both of us. And I wholeheartedly agree – just browsing around through lovely pictures always seems to help jog my inspiration again.

I’ve been having such an inkling to watch Marie Antoinette lately. Unfortunately, my DVD is packed away so I’m without. :( Woe is me. haha

Ahhhhhh…. just found your oasis and can’t tell you how good it feels. Yes spring is certainly on its way! Treasure the waning winter and keep in mind these are the good old days! I have been very inspired by your efforts and send the warmest greetings from my mountains of NY and NYC. Krissy you are an old soul and I take comfort in that, Bravo!!

That’s definitely one of my favourites quotations. :) I try to remember it in my day to day life as much as possible.

I think light is wonderful. And it makes photos wonderful.

I did have a Tumblr but I went back to WordPress :)

I wish I knew how to take better photographs because some times I see really, really lovely light, but I just don’t know how to work with it with a camera at all.

They’re all so pretty! It’s amazing how you can photograph such everyday things and make them look breathtaking. (Which I just realized mirrors the quote at the beginning of your post)
I recently became obsessed with Tumblr as well – I’ve been following so many people that post the loveliest pictures – I find myself constantly checking to see the latest ones (although i refuse to admit that it’s an addiction yet).
I’m going to follow you on all those accounts you mentioned,

A-ha, you picked up on that – that the quotation talks about beauty in every day items, (and that it’s also about light, hence the window pictures.) ;D

Oh, just you wait – the obsession will soon over take you. Tumblr’s evil like that. :P Evil in a good way though. ;)

First, this quote is not only lovely but also very true. Sometimes the perfect light makes the dullest things look as if they were out of this world!

Second, Marie Antoinette! Love love love! Must have watched it a zillion times.

Third, do you know that Sofia Coppola’s new film, ‘Somewhere’, is coming out this year? Can’t wait!

And you would know as you have such lovely photographs! :D

I didn’t know Somewhere was coming out this year! Now I’m super duper excited! A new Sofia film to look forward to. :D ♥

Angie » 23 February 2010

I feel like I’ve run into a wall lately myself, especially with blogging. I can totally relate and no need to apologize.

The second one from the top is the most interesting to me, the bird must have escaped when someone opened the window. Good for him.

Then I definitely must conclude it’s something going around as everyone seems to have been bit my the mid-February inspiration eating bug. :( Hopefully your drive will come back soon too!

Looove this (as always!) Honestly it really takes away the drab of this wet winter reality that I am in right now…I mean to think I was blind that we were close to spring and then more snow is dumped. I am so through with winter at this point haha. Much love!!!! xoxo

About Tumblr, I have to take some time and see if I can figure out how it works (yes, I’m that slow, haha) because We Heart It takes ages on my pc, so annoying.
