Wonderland

After much anticipation, the day is finally upon us: today is, as I have decided to call it, Wonderland day! The day Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is released! To say I’m nothing less than bouncing off the walls would be an understatement. The Alice books were two of my childhood favourites growing up, and I always look forward to film interpretations of them. (I think my favourite thus far is the 1999 TV special starring Tina Majorino.) So I think it’s safe to say that I’m very much looking forward to Tim Burton’s film. I, unfortunately, won’t be going to see it this weekend or within the next few weeks as I’m moving into mid-semester projects, but as soon as I have the opportunity, you know I’ll be there squirming with anticipation for the opening credits to roll.

For the fun of getting in the Wonderland mood, here’s a handful of fun Alice inspired photographs/illustrations/etc. :D (For the super enthusiastic, my first ode to Alice can be found here.)

What a lovely entry! :D I always cried when I watched Alice in Wonderland on video when she got upset in the forest, saying she’d never get out. :( ♥

I saw it last night, opening night at the midnight showing! IT WAS EPIC!

Must get Scene book!
Must go see it again in 3D!

So Fabulous!

I wanted all of the costumes! The makeup and graphics were amazing, the plot was intriguing and really held me. It was even funny in some places. Great movie.

If you get a chance some time, you should rent it. It’s a really, really well done adaptation. The supporting cast is so so awesome. They all embody each character so well.

Definitely! Have fun seeing the movie! :D

To me the pairing of Alice in Wonderland and Tim Burton just seems like perfection! Very excited for it myself, but I’m not sure when I’ll get to see it either. Such pretty pictures… I love the ones that look to be from a photoshoot.
Good luck with all your school work.

Ah, you’ve just reminded me that I forgot to source my images! Bad Krissy! The rest of that photoshoot you’re refering to can be found here: http://blog.ramdaq.com/article/15888/17-11-2008-_Alice_s_Adventures_in_Wonderland__by_Ramdaq_Photography.html

Aside from acting out “The Wizard of Oz” as a child, I also pretended I was Alice. I ate little pieces of cookies and pretty to shrink and took the little decorative bottles and pretended to drink the magic potions. I got in trouble a lot. :P

A major piece of pretty much everyone’s childhood there.

Aww, cute! My brother and I used have this Wonderland game we’d play in the backyard. I don’t quite remember what it involved, but I remember that we used to crawl around a lot pretending to the same height as the flowers. XD
