(Somewhat Belated) Red Carpet Favourites

… or a lot belated, I suppose since even though the Academy Awards were only a little over 2 days ago, they seem like old news already. But Sunday/Monday is my busy period as that’s when each module for university ends for me. All of my assignments are due on Monday nights, so I’m always consumed with editing, adding, and adjusting to perfection late into the night.

Excuses aside though, I quite enjoyed the Oscars on Sunday night. While I adore seeing movies, I’m far from an expert on them, and I very rarely see enough of the nominees to be able to make any educated picks on who will take home the prize. So I just cheer on the movies I like. And drool over the pretty dressesi. Since the first isn’t such a promising idea (nothing I was rooting for won… sad face), let’s take a step back to the pretty dresses and to my five personal favourite looks of the evening. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me (I’ve seen some of my picks pop up on worst dressed lists). But that’s fashion -  it’s subjective. Some may tend more towards the traditional ball gown, while I like to see something a little more fashion-forward and avant-garde.

Honestly, she can do no wrong in my eyes. She always looks like perfection. I noticed most people put this on their worst dressed list, but I’m choosing to ignore that. I fell in love with this dress the first time I saw it on the Chanel runway, and I’ve been DYING to see someone wear it to a red carpet event. Diane did it justice and looked flawless.
