This Moment… In March 2010

Kate Hudson for W Magazine (July 2003) Flower Illustration

Watching… copious amounts of movies! It’s been a bit of a movie marathon month. A few favourites include Brothers, Elvis & Anabelle, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Shutter Island, and Alice in Wonderland (2010).

Puppysitting… my aunt and uncle’s dog again! She’s the most adorable thing ever, and I love her to death. She’s my new BFF. ♥

Wondering… as I frequently do, what the best category on Bloglovin’ is for this blog. I never know! None of the categories are exactly what I want, so I stick with “Design”… but it doesn’t feel right. Thoughts anyone? What would you categorize this blog as? I’m drawing a complete blank.

Eating… yummy fruit trifle. Delicious!

Listening… repeatedly to the new Goldfrapp and She & Him albums. Both are amazing! ♥

lyptonvillage/2287342971

Signing… a lease on an apartment! I’m finally moving back out, and I’m so excited to have my own place again.

Lusting… over the new West Elm catalogue. I can’t wait until I’m financially secure enough to purchase beautiful furniture for myself.

Studying… very hard for university. Even over my spring break, which wasn’t really a break at all, but a chance for the professors to have a break while they assigned us more homework. (Why yes, I’m still terribly bitter.)

Wishing… series 4 of Skins would have lasted 10 episodes like all of the previous series. I’m very sad to see this cast go. I’ll miss them, especially JJ, Emily, Katie and Naomi. They were my favourites.

Combining… the old Just a Minute meme and my Things That Make Me Happy posts into one all encompassing end-of-the-month monthly recap: The new and improved This Moment. It seemed silly to do two different end-of-the-month posts, so I think this hybrid should work nicely for me. :)

Things That Made Me Happy This Month…

Raspberry & pineapple smoothies.
The neon-bright packaging of Sweet Tarts.
This video. Elijah Wood is so dreamy.
The ‘word’ “beautifullest”. It’s a word if Björk says it is.
Listening to Goldfrapp all day long.
The Sailor Moon theme song.
Waking up to e-mails filled with copious amount of smiley faces. :D :D :D :D
Singing along to Simon & Garfunkel with my mom.
Graphic black and white stripes with bold floral prints.
Simplicity.
Mushy love story movies I obsessed over in junior high. Namely A Walk to Remember.
Wind.
The good ice cream.
Song lyrics.
LOLcats.
Hearing stories about my dad’s childhood.
Sunflowers.
Impressionist art. Particularly, Seurat.
Pouffy pink dresses.

Follow along with my daily happiness filled exploits at This Is My Happy Face.

Seems like a good idea to combine end of the month posts to me. Saves a bit of time, probably. So fun that you’re moving out on your own again! I wish I lived on my own, haha. I’m totally wishing that Skins had 10 episodes too! I can’t believe I only just started watching it… I’m obsessed now! I’m so sad to say goodbye to generation 2.

Exactly! It saves time, and it was a bit repetitive I thought. So now things are more condensed and seamless, I hope. :D

I’m very excited about the move! Can’t wait to have my own place again.

So many fun things! I enjoyed reading your list. I just bought Fantastic Mr. Fox, as I know my family will love it–hopefully we’ll have time this weekend to watch it for the first time!

I hope you and your family enjoyed watching Fantastic Mr. Fox. It’s such a charming little film. I’m hoping the DVD will go down in price over the next few months as I’d love to have it for my collection.

Glad I’m not alone then! I just love the word lovely too much that I can’t vow to stop saying it. It’s too lovely! haha.

Ah, I’m jealous! I doubt Goldfrapp will come to Canada, and if they do, it’ll be too far away for me to go see them. Someday though I *will* see them in concert! I have to!

It was so adorable, wasn’t it? I wasn’t expecting much going into the movie, but I ended up LOVING it. Perhaps it’s silly, but I kind of wish it were my life. haha

Yay, another inspiring post :)
I have exactly the same problem at Bloglovin. Mine is under the category of “photoblog” but it really isn’t one.
Congrats on the move! Hope you have fun decorating your own place :)

I just don’t know what to chose! Darn you, bloglovin’ for making things to complicated on us. I wish you could choose more than one category. That would solve all my problems.

Mmmm… Elijah Wood. I never really thought much of him initially (when the LOTR hype was taking over the world :P), but he’s done well with ‘age’. So dreamy.

Oh, you finally got to see Alice in Wonderland! I still haven’t seen it, but I’m looking forward to it.
And yay for She&Him! I’m really enjoying their new album. I was actually disappointed with how Series 4 ended – I thought that the beginning of this season was okay, but the last couples of episodes were really strange and like they just wanted to get more ratings and gain a dramatic effect.

And Raspberry and Pineapple smoothies? I must try those!

I hope you get to see Alice soon! Since there have been so many mixed reviews, I’m curious to see what you’ll think of it.

I was SO disappointed with how series 4 ended, too. It was very lacklustre. I think it could have been really, really amazing, but they needed to narrow their focus. End cryptic mini-opinion. :P

Yes! Raspberry and pineapple! It was a really random fruit combination, but it turned out really delicious. I will warn you in advance though, don’t expect something super sweet. So if you don’t mind something a little different, I highly recommend it. :D
