6th April 2010 in Head Over Heels In Love With

Artwork by Michelle Aramas
Because I’m very inspired by abstract paintings these days, and hers have such dreamy colour palettes.

Björk
Because she is a constant source of inspiration. I adore her to no ends.

Caitlin Shearer for Karla Spetic’s A/W 2010 collection
Because this collaboration makes for some lovely and unique pieces. Caitlin Shearer’s illustrations come to life as such beautiful patterned fabric. Read Caitlin‘s thoughts here, and view the rest of Karla Spetic’s collection over here.

The font ‘Gami’
Because I have an obsession with all things origami and origami-inspired.

Ruffles

Snooze Velvet Armchair (via Graham & Green)
Because I just want to wrap myself up in a cozy blanket and curl up in this armchair to watch a good movie.

Dogs as Typefaces
Because it’s cute, clever and comical. I would like a Fraktur, S.V.P.

Florals, florals, and more florals!
Because I love them anywhere and everywhere! On pretty summer dresses, on wallpaper, on drapery fabric… the more the merrier!

This sweet little macaron picture
Because they’re pretty little things, aren’t they? Never actually had one though.

Gemma Booth’s The House of Air
Because it is the epitome of loveliness. Beautiful lighting, colours, transparencies, music, feathers… watch for yourself here.

As always, click images for sources.

Looking back, this was a very feminine and floaty post.

And thank you for the kind words. :)

Isn’t it awesome? It pleases the hyper-organized and dreamer parts of me simultaneously.

You are so inspiring. I wish that I could appreciate things like you can! I am introduced to so many things from your blog. My favourite was definitely the origami ABCs! :D Although, I don’t know what the last 3 symbols were after Z…

Hmm, you’re right… I’m not really sure what those extra symbols are either. The last one looks like the Eiffel Tower. Or maybe one of those math kit tools that helps you draw perfect circles. (Compass? Is that what they’re called?) Other than that, my money’s on robots. ;) haha

Aww, and thank you so much! You’ve got me beaming. :D ♥

The origami font is just awesome. I really want to learn how to make origami, especially cranes. I’m also quite taken by the chair and the ruffles and the pups. Dachshunds always make me smile.

I always admire origami from afar, and tell myself that someday, I will learn how to fold pretty origami things. I really need to make that sentence past tense and teach myself how!

Dachshunds totally make me smile too. So cute. Well, anything cute does, to be honest. haha

High five for being a Bjork fan! :D She’s one of my idols. Love her so much. Such an inspirational woman.

I’m impressed by your baking skills! I don’t even want to think about what might come out of the oven if I even when near a macaron recipe. XD

My main font here is Baskerville. It’s my new favourite. I love the way it looks in italics. Especially the letter “W”. Perhaps that’s silly, but that was kind of the reason I chose to use it for all the titles here. XD Just for the “W”‘s. Other than that, I use a combination of Garamond, and Georgia as well, and for my header, it’s a font called Affair. :D I like serif fonts a lot, obviously. ;)
