This Moment… In June 2010

Ring

Playing… my brand new piano! I love it to pieces. I’ve also found a tonne of Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple and Tori Amos sheets online that I’ve been playing night and day.

Drinking… peach iced tea and pink lemonade by the gallon. The perfect summer refreshments!

Falling… more and more in love with my city every day. ♥

Listening… to lots and lots of Trespasser’s William. Their music is positively divine. See exhibit A: Lie in the Sound, B: Alone, and C: Weakening. I’ve also been listening to lots of Peter Broderick, The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie and Charlotte Gainsbourg this month.

Spending… every free minute I can spare in the company of friends.

#BooksThatChangedMyWorld

What can I say, when it comes to books, I get weak in the knees and lose all self control. So when I noticed that #BooksThatChangedMyWorld was trending on Twitter (over a week ago now, but shh!), I couldn’t help but join in to gush along with the rest of the globe! Good old Twitter providing an avenue to spread the word about awesome books.

I ♥ Erin Fetherston (Resort 2011)

The girlie-girl in me is squealing with pure delight with the Erin Fetherston Resort 2011 collection. Each click of my mouse as I flipped through look after look had me flailing with giddiness. And how could I not when the collection was filled with such delightful details as bows!, pleats!, boater hats!, peter pan collars!!, sweetheart necklines!!, and pretty little dresses!!! Sorry, got a little exclamation mark happy there. To be entirely materialistic for a moment… I want the entire collection!

Mixology… Sight, Sound, The Senses, It’s All There If You Are

Every once in awhile, I like to compile a random mix of songs that suit a feeling or mood for one particular day. While I have hundreds of different playlists in my iTunes, there are days when not a single one of them is ‘right’. Like having a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear. And so, this little mix was born to fill that musical void I was having today.

  1. Don’t ask me what the title means. It’s just a jumble of words that came into my head, as is usually the case with all of my mix titles. (»)

Wanderlust

I have the worst imaginable case of wanderlust right now. I’ve actually had it for quite a few months, but with summer quickly coming up on us now, I can’t help but long for adventures to far away and exotic places. Perhaps because any sort of travel is so utterly, entirely, and completely unattainable to me at present, it makes me desire exploring the world even that much more than usual. Such is always the case, isn’t it? We can never quite have what we want. And for the last few months, all I’ve wanted to do is cram a suitcase full of my essentials and take off to a foreign land to roam the streets, taste new foods, meet the locals, take oodles of pictures, and explore, explore, explore! I’ve been cooped up in Canada (that seems like it should be an oxymoron considering Canada is so massive) for far too long. I need to go places, see the world! It doesn’t help any that I was supposed to go on not one, but two, trips abroad this summer which have slowly reduced to one, and now none at all. :( Suffice to say, I’m still devastated that both were canceled. I’m desperately clinging to the hope that next summer I’ll be able to fulfill this travel lust, if for no other reason than to get it out of my system! I constantly find myself daydreaming about being on the other side of the world discovering and trying new things. When I close my eyes, I see little floating globes and passports. Okay, maybe that last one was a bit of a stretch…
