Over night, I seem to have developed a rabid obsession with grey nail polish. No idea where it came from, but I woke up one morning with a sole goal on my mind: “Must. Find. Grey. Polish.”

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not the most loyal polisher. I tend to go through phases of painting my nails for a few weeks, and then forget about it all together for a few months. At the moment, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, I’m riding the nail polish wave. Grey all the way, baby!

Mmmm… gorgeous grey galore! I typically stick to my pale pinks, golds, whites, and blacks when it comes to nail polish. My one bright colour I’ll be adventurous with from time to time is hot pink. But that doesn’t mean I don’t admire bright colours from afar. Because, by goly, I do. Incoming rainbow explosion!

How about you – what is your tried and true shade? And any colours you’re going gaga over at the moment?

P.S. Embarrassing story time. When I was younger, my best friend and I made a “band” for our stuffed animals. We’d write songs for them and put on performances. I wrote our stuffed animal band – called The Butterfly’s – a song about the rainbow. While working on this post, the entire time I was singing the rainbow song in my head. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, these are the colours of the raaaain-BOW! All these colours that I see… are the colours of the rainbow. You can make fun of me now.

Aww, it’s a cute song :)

I’m also looking for gray nail polish! I have one, but it’s too shimmery (though I know that for you, nothing can be too shimmery :))

Haha, you know my ways too well. Shimmery is always good!

I don’t know if it’s available in other countries, but the brand of grey I use (it looks like the 2nd picture in this post) is by Joe Fresh. I love it. It’s a perfect middle grey and is very resistant to chips. I know it’s in Canada, but like I said, I don’t know if it’s elsewhere in the world.

I love gray too. It felt more like a winter color to me- but I can see it in the Spring. To me its the same “badass” and “devil-may-care” color like black nail polish- but a little softer. Next to all the pretty things in your pictures it’s an awesome contrast

“but a little softer”
That’s exactly why I love it, too! I love the look of black polish, but I don’t think I pull it off well. Grey works well for me – a little less harsh and goes with everything.

I go through massive phases of painting my nails, and then don’t bother for a while. At the moment I lvoe all the crackle effect polishes there are at the moment. Definitely going to have to purchase me some of them!

Lol, such a cute story. I go through phases as well, but I rarely find the colour I’m looking for. Grey is really pretty!

I tend to get annoyed with painting my finger nails, because it always chips away so easily. I paint my toenails all the time because they don’t tend to have the same issue. If I decide to go for anything on my fingernails I opt for clear. Then when it chips it doesn’t look so bad.

I normally don’t have a “thing” for nail polish, but I recently went through that phase with nude nail polish. Well, variations of pale cream. Right now I am looking for a matte teal. I never even thought about grey, but your pictures are making me think twice!

Lovely post! The colors that I’ve tried are red, pink, black, sky blue (never did go with my nails so I don’t use it anymore), and green aqua. I really want to try grey and purple one day. :D Then again, my mom would tell me to take it off. ;-;
