8th July 2011 in Mixology

I know I’ve been positively sunshine, unicorns and bunny rabbits when talking about my time in Australia thus far. Because let’s face it, it’s pretty darn awesome here. But that’s not to say I’m emitting rainbows with every foot step. There are always ups and downs. My biggest trifle here: homesickness. After my mom left and returned to Canada, I was really feeling the burn. So I made myself a little “cheer me up” mix to help keep my mind off feeling a bit blue. Here are some tunes to combat the feeling of being all alone and far from home, complete with some happiness inducing accompanying images.

I Hold Sunlight And Swallow Butterflies

01. Eisley – Brightly Wound
02. Emiliana Torrini – Big Jumps
() 03. Stars – In Our Bedroom After The War

04. Feist – 1 2 3 4
05. Ivy – Nothing But The Sky
06. Hall & Oates – Sara Smile

07. Ingrid Michaelson – The Way I Am
08. Jónsi – Sinking Friendships
09. Sia – Breathe Me

10. Jenny Lewis – The Charging Sky
11. Let’s Go Sailing – We Get Along
12. Goldfrapp – Monster Love

13. Metric – Satellite Mind
14. Joanna Newsom – The Fray
15. She & Him – Me And You

Listen to the mix on 8tracks

Whenever you need a little pick me up, I hope this mix will help lift your spirits, put a smile on your face (even if only temporarily) and wash away your worries. Happy listening!

If you only have a few quick minutes for a tune, make it the one marked with a heart ♥: it’s my most loved song of the bunch.

Thanks, lovely. :) I’m trying to keep myself occupied with many explorations all around as often as I can. It helps with the homesickness for sure. :)
