I find it incredibly hard to believe that I’ll be sitting in a movie theatre in a little under 15 hours seeing the final film installment of the Harry Potter series. I haven’t really come to terms with that yet. It just seems unreal. Despite all of the hoopla surrounding photo calls, press conferences, etc. etc., it just hasn’t sunken in to me yet. Around 2:30AM tomorrow morning, I’ll have seen all there is to see.i There will be no more. I refuse, however, to accept this as “the end”. Because it’s not. Harry Potter will never end in my eyes. It will live on forever and ever in our collective hearts and imaginations. I’m so happy to have been a part of this, and I know I will look back fondly for the rest of my life on these past however many years, and the wonderful friends and memories that have come out of it. On that extremely mushy and much-too-sentimental-for-its-own-good note, consider this my teeny, tiny tribute to that magical place which captured my heart so many years ago: Hogwarts.
“Perched atop a high mountain [...], its windows sparkling in the starry sky, was a vast castle with many turrets and towers.”
“Harry had never even imagined such a strange and splendid place.”
“The Entrance Hall was so big you could have fitted the whole of the Dursleys’ house in it. The stone walls were lit with flaming torches [...], the ceiling was too high to make out, and a magnificent marble staircase facing them led to the upper floors.”
“Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
Many thanks to my good friend Crissy for being so kind as to type up the quotations from Sorcerer’s Stone for me. Much appreciated! ♥

- Apparently the film premiers earlier here in Oz than elsewhere in the world, and I promise, I will not say anything about the film so as not to spoil anyone. (»)

Oh gosh, I know! It breaks my heart hearing everyone saying “it’s the end of our childhood”. No. No, it’s not! Potter lives on forever and ever and I will cling to it even when I’m old and wrinkly. I’m so glad that I was a kid when the books came out and even though I HATED it at the time, having to wait between each installment… wouldn’t have changed that for the world. The anticipation and excitement of the next new book coming out was one of the greatest things ever. ♥
