Is anyone else watching ABC’s period drama Pan Am? I’m kind of loving it. It’s so stylin’. Girdles aside, I wish I had a snappy blue uniform. I hear the ratings are dropping through which is major, major sad face news. I usually try not to watch new shows when they first air as I always seem to get attached to the ones that get cancelled quickly. But there were so many shows that premiered this season that caught my eye and I broke my rule many times over. Pan Am is my favourite drama that premiered. It’s a great combination of mystery and drama mixed in with moments of comedy. Plus it’s a pretty show, and it totally feeds my wanderlust.

The story centers around four flight attendants (and two pilots) as they travel the globe flying for Pan Am airlines. Outspoken Maggie…

…Kate, a newly enlisted CIA information courier…

Kate’s younger sister Laura who left her fiance at the altar to experience the world she never knew…

… and my favourite, sassy Francophone Colette.

I’m crossing all  body parts this show will live long enough to mature and come into its own. It’s a visually stunning period piece (for which, I’m a like a moth to a flame), and I’m already finding myself invested in the characters and their success. There’s so much potential for growth and I really want to know more about lovely Colette and my other favourite, Kate – her CIA storyline is cause for much intrigue!

What new shows are you watching this season? I’m also hooked on Ringer (sooo bad it’s good and I can’t look away) and New Girl (adorable & geeky and I heart it). Anyone else watching Pan Am and wishing to live a jet-set life traveling the globe?

19th October 2011 in Fashion

Chanel’s spring collection… Let’s talk details! Because they bring some serious pretty. The clothing on the whole is very obvious Chanel, but it’s the details that are breathing some new and exciting (aquatic) life into the collection.

Tell me I’m not the only one loving the mermaid vibe here. Beautiful, luxurious, sophisticated mermaid, that is. Nothing seaweed-y here. Just pure elegance. Gauzy fabrics, delicate pearls, seashell clutches, reflective sequins, slicked back “wet” hair buns, coral inspired jewelry. I love how all of these elements came together and touched on the sea theme without beating you over the head with it. It’s very polished and graceful, true to the Chanel vision. But it’s also kind of spunky! Who didn’t dream of being a beautiful mermaid when they were growing up? Once again, Chanel continues to make the dream a reality.

17th October 2011 in Stay Inspired

Happy Monday! Let’s start the week inspired! Here’s a quick little inspiration dump of what’s been hangin’ out in my brain as of late – some of my girl crushes (Emma Watson, Audrey Hepburn, Kirsten Dunst, Olsens), textures and materials and items of the oddest sort (feathers, fish scales, gem stones, mirror, hypnotic stripes), a few inspirational quotations, and, of course, some sparkley.

Sorry posting’s been a little slow over the last few days. Didn’t quite have enough entries scheduled for during my surgery recovery. It went very well, but I still need to rest my eyes a lot, so extensive computering isn’t so much of an activity high on my list of things to being doing.

Stay inspired. xo.

13th October 2011 in Girl Crush

…speaking of girl crushes, I kind of really love x a lot Elle Fanning. She’s too adorable for words. And is way too stylish and not-at-all-awkward/fashionable-questionable for someone her age. It’s not fair. She’s a better dresser than I am now at 23, and she’s what, 13 years old? Again with the not fair. I wore baggy sweat shirts and track pants when I was 13. (Not my best look.) Envy and supreme jealousy of Miss Elle aside, I love her to pieces. She seems like such a sweetheart, and she’s definitely on her way to fashion icon status.

I recently saw Phoebe in Wonderland which was her first starring role. Wowzers. I was very impressed with her in Somewhere, but she knocked my socks and shoes off in Phoebe. This girl is going to be a force to be reckoned with with so much talent already at such a young age. I look forward to seeing where the rest of her career takes her, and I’ve no doubt she’ll induce supreme envy in me for many, many years to come.

11th October 2011 in Editorials, Girl Crush

I really like these photos of Rose Byrne for Muse Magazine. She’s positively stunning on any given day, and she’s even more so here. Soft, romantic, and a little bit dramatic, I’m swooning a little bit. Definite girl crush material.
