Hi guys,
Here’s the dealio. Technology is both my BFF and my mortal enemy. I love it, but a lot of the time, it doesn’t love me. My beloved MacBook is currently in a state of “I hate you, Krissy. I’m going to make your life living hell.” And while I’m 100% okay with people not liking me 100% of the time (though, admittedly, it does make me a little bit sad), I’m kind of not really down with my computer hating me. And it’s pushing me into an early quarter-life crisis.
Force Quitting x 20 times a day = It’s bad. Bad, guys. Guys, bad. Bad, guys. It’s bad. Bad. Bad. Bad. Bad.i
Suffice to say, I’m very concerned my little Luna Lovegood is going to kick the can reeeeeal soon. (Yeah, I’m a gigantic dork and named my Macbook after a Harry Potter character. My supreme dorkiness knows no bounds.) And with the end of my semester looming at just over 4 weeks away, my mad panicking and supreme stress levels are mounting. Exponentially. I’m very afraid Luna isn’t going to survive that long.
I’m sure you’re thinking, “That’s a very tragic story and all, but I care why?” Or you might not care. That’s okay too. I still love you. But the point I’m getting at is that I’ve been faced with a tough call to make for the past few days, and while it hurts my heart just a little bit a lot, I think I’ve come to terms with the following decision: Shimmer Like Gold is now on an indefinite break until my computer situation can be resolved. I’m afraid with the daily/hourly computer freak outs, I need to save those moments, few and far between, when my computer isn’t being a gigantic jerk and reserve them solely for my school work. Sad face. Fingers crossed the ole computer hangs in there until after the semester ends. If it dies before, that would be supremely bad.
I promise you, I’m not abandoning this blog. This is only temporary and I’ll be back to posting and commenting as soon as I can. Thank you all for sticking with me all this time – it means a lot that all you fantastic people follow and support my blog.
I’ll still be around Twitter (@krissy_) and you can reach me by e-mail (shimmerlikegold@gmail.com) thanks to the wonders of the trusty iPod touch. (The one piece of technology that currently isn’t out to get me. Horrah! ILU, iPod.) I also have two posts which I’d written earlier in the week that are scheduled for the next few days. After that, it’s a Shimmer Like Gold blackout. See you on the other side, hopefully sans a computer blow up and complete meltdown during finals!
End terribly verbose and surprisingly more emotional than I’d anticipated farewell.
xo.
(Wow, that was a sombre borderline depressing post. Here’s a little something sparkley to cheer you, but mostly me, up.)
- 20 points if get my reference. (»)
