How about a little Warhol this morning? Nothing like a little pop art to feed the soul and fuel a little creativity, right? I’m no rabid Warhol fan; just your average admirer. And while I can appreciate his more bold/iconic/well known pieces, I prefer his simple sketches and photographs, and of course, the many assorted prints with his infamous and often blunt little quotes & sayings. For funzies, here is some of my favourite art work from & art work inspired by everyone’s favourite pop artist.

Sooo covet this “All is pretty” poster. I’ve searched everywhere I can think of, but can’t find a source for it. Someday though, this will be mine.

A few film strips of Miss Edie Sedgewick.

NYC Street Map, c. 1949. Yay childhood art!

Hearts, c. 1979-84. Simple and sweet.

It’s these tongue-in-cheek little blurbs of text that I love. He’s so honest! I love it! (And I understand, Mr. Warhol. I too like boring things.)

The end! This was a sort of random post. But I dig the random, so I’m goin’ with it. Tell me about your favourite Warhol piece in the comments if you feel so inclined. :)

Oh, I’m jealous you saw a whole exhibit of his work! That would be incredible! I actually only saw my first Warhol in person last summer. Crazy!
