I’ll be upfront here: this Prada lookbook, it’s a few seasons old. I can be pretty not up-and-on the times when it comes to this sort of stuff. But you know what? When something really rad comes along, it transcends “season” and time and all that bologna. Because it’s awesome. And that’s all that counts. (Right?) So that’s what I’m going with: this Prada lookbook is pretty rad, and I like it, so here it is!

I love me some mixed media, so naturally, these are riiiight up my alley. I love the way they’ve blurred the lines of fashion, photography and illustration. In a way, these are even almost cinematic. Or as cinematic as 2d can be. Through the fantasy world that’s been created here, each image does seem like a quick stop into a single frame from some strange dream-like movie though. It’s a bit jarring, but the high concept approach is so well executed, that push/pull of “what in the heck is going on here?” just plain works in a weirdly wonderful way.

I’m going to be honest here, all I can think about right now is how no one should wear clear plastic shoes unless they are currently in the 90s, rich, and Cher from Clueless.

I am sure once the disgust dies down I will appreciate the beauty of the other images, as they are rather spiffy.

Oh, you are going to hate me, Alice. I have clear plastic shoes… Not hooker heels or anything, but those water shoes like what I had when I was a kid. I heart them. :P I guess my being a child of the 90′s is my reason for having them.

Oh wow — you’re right! It does look pretty rad. I love how the direction of these lookbooks can be so creative, like this one, for instance. Very unique!.. and I honestly think a lot of fashion companys wouldn’t have the courage do to something this unique. :)

Slightly wacky but so wonderful.
I agree though, to heck with date of publication/creation/release.
