Typically, I tend towards more of a modern look when it comes to architecture. I’m also a real sucker for good old classic, historical design too. But you know what really floats my boat? When someone can combine the two in such an effortless way that it seems the two were meant for each other. Witness the following: gorgeous historic building in Vienna, Austria and plopped right on the top is this ultra modern loft space. I’m talkin’ angles, concrete, glass, wide open space, black vs white… all within the context of such a historical building and city. Pretty rockin’, I think. I’d move in without a second question.

Wow that looks so good! I am sort of the same but opposite to you, in that I love old buildings more than anything, but I totally agree that a modern addition to an old building that flows so seamlessly from one to the other cannot be beat!
