This may be incredibly dorky, but I have this mental list of different types of spaces I’d someday love to design. On said list are, 1. an ice cream/fro yo parlor, and 2. a hair salon. I’ve gushed ad nauseum about the ice cream/fro yo dealio plenty of times before. Now, it’s salon time! Why I bring this up now is that I stumbled upon just about the most amaaaazing hair salon I’ve ever seen. To sum up: WOW. This is the sort of space I can only dream my imaginary future hair salon project might look like. It’s beautiful. I really dig the natural/industrial look. It’s modern and elegant in an unconventional way. Plus I’m always interested in spaces that combine both a masculine and feminine vibe, and this one does it quite skillfully. I’d want to go there if I lived in Amsterdam.

P.S. I’m on Instragram now and I’m kinda obsessed – let’s be buddies! My username is _kristinb.

Yes yes YES! I absolutely ADORE this place. Natural/Industrial describes my taste to the tee. One of my favorite coffee shops downtown is in an old warehouse-type building… cement floors, lots of window natural lighting… and LOTS of wood! Wooden chairs & tables all hand-made… it reminds me a lot of that salon. Love it!

By the way — I also dream of one day designing some places… for me it’s a coffee shop. ;)

Oh goodness, I just stumbled onto your little place on the ‘net, and I really love it! I wish I was a designer – then I would probably do what you do. Heck, even though I’m not, I sometimes like daydreaming and thinking of my perfect coffee store. ^^
And ahh, hair salons are perfect to design! I actually went to my first one recently ( ! ), and it was so spacious and beautiful.
