I ♥ Anna Inghardt… Part 2

I’m like a moth to flame when it comes to Anna Inghardt‘s photography. Her photos seem to capture a mystical dream world floating through a sea of white. They’re like being caught on a crisp morning just as the fog starts to fade and you begin to see the little details of the world poking through and waiting to be found. Every time I see she’s added a new photograph to her stream on Flickr, I get a little twinge of delight in my heart. She’s one of the very few photographers whose work I would know in an instant and whose work time and time again blows my mind.

Guest Post: Kurt Halsey

Quick hello from Krissy: Hi guys! This post is brought to you by my good, and long-time friend, Manda of Break The Sky. Many thanks to her for succumbing to my demands for a guest post. ;) ♥

My love for Kurt Halsey started approximately five years ago, when one of my friends introduced me to his artwork.  I’m not a huge fan of art in general, nor do I know much about artists or anything related to art.  But there was something about Kurt’s work that spoke volumes to me; the themes in his work are ones that I can relate to constantly.  I love his style and the simplicity of his sketches, how they are so simple yet are often about subjects regarding complex matters of the heart.  Those who know me know that oftentimes my romantic life is a mess, and I think that’s part of the reason why I connect so well to Kurt’s work.

I ♥ Dreamcats

It’s that time of the school year where I’m swimming in projects, but the prospect of finishing the semester in about a week’s time is just so delicious, that I can’t help but procrastinate just a little bit more than I should. It’s so hard not to when you can taste the freedom that’s only days away. To be a walking cliche, it’s so close, and yet so far. To cheer myself up a bit and break the endless cycle of homework, I’ve been stalking Tumblr – one of my new favourite sources of inspiration (and, consequently, distraction as well). In any case, I stumbled upon this gem… Procrastination, thy name is Dreamcats. Boasting “girls & cats, cats in soft focus, cats on film, dream cats”, it sure lives up to its expectations! Add in a little cuteness overload, and you’ve got yourself quite the treasure! Because really, who doesn’t love cute little kitties and dreamy photography?

I ♥ Tattoos

I’m quite enamoured with the temporary tattoos that the recent Chanel line as come out with. The beauty of them is in their delicate designs, and for me personally, the temporary part is very appealing. The idea of permanently etching something onto my body terrifies me to no end. But it’s funny actually, for something I have zero interest in doing to myself, I find myself very drawn to the art of tattooing. I don’t think I would ever get a tattoo – mostly because I fear in 10 years, I would hate it and want to rip my skin off – but I do love admiring from afar. Generally, the first that comes to mind when someone mentions tattoos is not something that is artful or elegant in the least. (Personally, I think of gruffy pirates with anchors and banners reading “Mother”.) But there are a lot of really beautiful designs floating around, and that’s what keeps me searching out tattoo designs. I sometimes find myself watching those tattooing shows on television (I could personally care less amount the drama and all that sort of thing on the show), but I love seeing what images people get inked on their bodies and the special messages behind them. It must be very empowering.
