One of my favourite things about having the opportunity to work in a design studio (and not my itty, bitty apartment all alone in my lonesomeness) is that it’s such an upbeat and collaborative experience. At my internship, every day we rocked out to awesome tunes together. And it was awesome. Sadly, my last day was Thursday, and I’m popping into the studio for my final goodbyes early next week. As a silly little thank you, I made a little mixtape for them as a “merci!/farewell/something to remember me by” token. It goes a little something like this:

I know I’ve been positively sunshine, unicorns and bunny rabbits when talking about my time in Australia thus far. Because let’s face it, it’s pretty darn awesome here. But that’s not to say I’m emitting rainbows with every foot step. There are always ups and downs. My biggest trifle here: homesickness. After my mom left and returned to Canada, I was really feeling the burn. So I made myself a little “cheer me up” mix to help keep my mind off feeling a bit blue. Here are some tunes to combat the feeling of being all alone and far from home, complete with some happiness inducing accompanying images.

I haven’t posted one of my monthly mixes in awhile, so I thought it was high time to sneak one in around these parts. For those needing a wee bit of catching up, in addition to making themed mixes, I keep a playlist for each month of songs I’m in love with at the time and name said playlist after something happening in my personal life – almost like a sort of music diary for the month.
