Hey guys! Please excuse the design disaster around these parts at the moment. New shiny layout in the works and to be revealed soon! Yay! xo. (2012/02/04)
Excuse me while I bask in nostalgia for a few minutes here. I really miss Sydney. Sometimes it’s still kind of surreal that my travels in Australia are already over. I feel like I should still be looking forward to them. After all, I spent a good year of my life looking forward to going to Australia. And then I was there, and I fell in love, and it went by in the blink of an eye. Cue wistful sigh.
This little video has me dreaming about and falling in love with it all over again. What can I say? I’m a sucker for travel videos. And travel videos with awesome typography are even better. Like a moth to a flame, I’m longing for sandy beaches, bustling downtown streets, that beautiful and humungous! harbour, koalas…
For the ultra-wanderlust-filled among us (raise your hands proudly, you’re not alone!), they also have equally as lovely videos for other cities, including Vancouver, Beijing, London and Paris, among others. Go forth and enjoy!
Pinch me because I’m dreaming and I’m dreaming of Christmas morning. What a treat Björk’s new music video for the first single from her upcoming album is. Crystalline itself is a stunning piece of musical artistry with her signature out-of-this-world lyrics rife with beautiful imagery and thought-provoking metaphors. Plus there’s some really fun xylophone (I think?) going on. And then the video. It’s genius. A giant orange afro-like mop of hair. Laser beams. Gemstones growing out of moon craters. Crazy ass neon patterns scribbled across the sky. It’s pretty wacky. But in the best possible way.
Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well. It’s been a crazy last few days for me. My brother’s been in the hospital (he’s doing much better now and is on the mend), so I’ve been with him the majority of the time. I’ve gotten further than ever behind in my final projects, so I’ll leave you with a small little gem of inspiration that I meant to post days ago: a beautiful underwater video shot by a favourite photographer of mine, Elena Kalis. (Long-time readers may recall a previous entry I posted about her Alice in WaterLand series.)
