This little video has me dreaming about and falling in love with it all over again. What can I say? I’m a sucker for travel videos. And travel videos with awesome typography are even better. Like a moth to a flame, I’m longing for sandy beaches, bustling downtown streets, that beautiful and humungous! harbour, koalas…

For the ultra-wanderlust-filled among us (raise your hands proudly, you’re not alone!), they also have equally as lovely videos for other cities, including Vancouver, Beijing, London and Paris, among others. Go forth and enjoy!

Only Björk would create a video that looks like the radioactive highlighter exploded in outer space. And I love her for it. She consistently produces mind-bogglingly eccentric, innovative, and 100% individualistic music and videos, and because of that, she’s such a huge inspiration to me. I would love to look inside that brain of hers. What a place it must be.

On a bit of a side note, raise your hand if you’re as ridiculously excited as I am for all the awesome music that’s being released in the next month or so? Feist, M83, Tori Amos, Ladytron, and, of course, Björk. I could pee my pants from excitement!

Magical, non? I have a huge fear of bodies of water and of drowning, but her work makes me completely forget about my phobia. After all, how can something this beautiful be terrifying? The pastel colours, bubbles, and light reflections make this such a work of art. I kind of wish I had an underwater camera now!

This is my all-time favourite video. I love it to pieces. Imagine how much you love your dog, or your favourite stuffed animal. No, not quite that much. That would be unhealthy. But almost. The love is up there. ;) The animation style is so full of whimsy, and the characters are so adorable I just want to scoop them all up in a big bear hug. I love the story, too. It’s a super-duper mini-documentary about people’s first crushes. So endearing.

And for the sake of the topic ‘first crushes’, my first crush was on a boy I played tag in the school yard with in 3rd grade. For some reason, I called him Cookie Monster. We played tagged every day that spring. When we started back to school the next year, we were in separate classes and we never spoke again until 12th grade.

This has got to be one of my all-time favourite commercials. It’s so sweet and whimsical. For one, it’s downright awesome for featuring the lovely Annie Little and her song ‘Fly Me Away’. Two, I love stop motion films. And three, it makes me want to play dress-up! A very charming advertisement.

I love this advertisement. It’s so adorably mischievous and flirtacious. Plus, it’s no secret I have a girl crush on Jessica Stam. (And I love the little kick-back to Spider-Man with her dangling upside down.)

Joanna Newom’s ‘Sprout and the Bean’

Joanna Newsom is such a talent; that can’t be denied. And I’m completely captivated with her harp playing. Watching her fingers flitter across the strings is awe-inspiring.ⁱ And check out the chalkboard drawings – so fun!

The whole film is beautiful from start to finish, and if I could, I’d post the whole movie. It’s one of my all-time favourites (both the film and the book upon which it’s based). Sofia Coppola can do no wrong in my eyes.

And on the topic of Sofia Coppola, a dreamy little perfume commercial she directed for Dior. I’d like to live in that advertisement.

1. One of my life goals is to someday learn to play the harp.

I was sitting in the living room this evening watching Jeopardy (I know, I’m a huge nerd. But I’m not ashamed of it – I love Jeopardy! And trivia games in general) and what came on the television but the following commercial:

Can I get a big “AWWWWWW!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥”, please? Seriously. How adorable is that? Until now, I never thought anything could top my all-time favourite television commercialⁱ. Apparently I was wrong because this is beyond adorable! Little bunnies at the carnival! *melts into a puddle of goo*

1. I can’t find a video of it, but it’s the one where the puppy comes running around the corner into the kitchen at the sound of the can opener, slips and slides across the kitchen floor into the wall. He does this for a few days. On the last day, the puppy’s owner sets up a wall of toilet paper and when the puppy slides across the floor, he crashes into the wall of toilet paper. Super cute!
