Winter

Those that know me, know that I’m a wee bit head over heels for winter. It’s only the greatest season! Nothing beats knitted scarves, snugly mittens, icicles sparkling in the light, that tingly feeling when your nose starts to un-thaw after being out in the cold air. And most importantly, snow!! It’s no stretch of the truth when I say snow is one of my favourite things in the whole wide world. “Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes / Silver white winters that melt into springs /These are a few of my favorite things” – that lyric could have been written by me. It hasn’t been feeling too wintry around these parts the whole season and that’s been supremely depressing (for me, anyway). But over the weekend, we finally got a nice little dusting of snow, and I’m thrilled! ILU, snow.

P.S. Trying a little something different with my images this time around. Yay/nay?

My Week With Marilyn

One of my most favourite movies I’ve seen recently is My Week With Marilyn. Have you seen it? I want to go to the theatre again, it’s that lovely! Michelle Williams is breathtaking/electrifying/absolutely phenomenal as iconic Marilyn Monro. Coupled with the costumes, the sets, the music*… she near broke my heart.

(* Oh, the music. I love me a good soundtrack, and this one was beautiful! If I can get my hands on it, I want to transcribe the song playing over the credits. Gorgeous.)

Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend! And if you’ve pulling a few of couch potato moves like myself, what movies are keeping you company? I always love a great movie recommendation. xo.

Double Exposures by Pakayla Biehn

A well done double exposure is pretty rare and incredible on its own. Now take that piece of art and turn it into a painting. That’s just what artist Pakayla Biehn did in her Double Exposures series: turned a handful of double exposures by a series of photographers, and painted them. Wait a second, a painting, you say? Yuppers! These are all paintings! Incredible, right? The close attention to detail is almost unbelieable. You’d almost never know these weren’t photographs, that’s how incredibly realistic Pakayla’s work is. This level of precision and photo-realism kind of boggles my mind a little bit. In the best possible way. Because … just WOW.
