2nd March 2012 in Art

I’m a bit lost for the right words. But that’s okay; sometimes something is so overwhelmingly awesome, words don’t even seem to be on the same level. They are inferior. And in this case, words couldn’t possibly begin to describe the art of Kristjana S Williamas. It’s beyond words. Her work seems to be living in its own fantastical realm of magic and mysticism with incredibly intricate illustrations filled with vivid bright bursts of colour, exotic creatures of Jabberwocky or Wonderland-esque nature, and landscapes overflowing at every inch with flora and fauna of every sort imaginable like the most artful and imaginative scientific textbook never published. Composed of hundreds of layers of collage, it’s no wonder I’m near speechless and 110% mesmerised. Look on and join me in my wonderment.

Hello, Mr. Zebra. Can I have your sweater ’cause it’s cold, cold, cold…

How about a little zebra fun… because I have a strange love & obsession for zebras. I think they’re totally rad. They’re like ponies but with much snappier outfits. I mean, really, what beats black and white? Or stripes? Or living in Africa? All of those things: pretty darn cool.

Basically, this is just a post about another of my many favourite animals. Zebras, you’re the best. Someday I will get to pet one of you and that will be a glorious, glorious day. Until then, you just keep on keepin’ on and being your awesomely stripey selves.

I interrupt our regular scheduled posting to bring you… the cutest thing on the entire planet!

I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. This is just WAY too cute. Seriously, how adorable is this little guy? I want to take him home and love him and cuddle him forever and ever and ever! ♥ Really, really not helping my desire to kidnap a koala to have for my own. Call me a nutter, but I actually resized all the open windows on my laptop screen this morning so that he could sit in an open window that I could see all. day. long. Those eyes! I just melt.

Never has a GIF (or any picture, really) made me smile bigger than this little guy. I love him. I wish you could carry GIFs around in your pocket. Because I would.

26th September 2011 in Stay Inspired

Monday, Monday. It’s here again. This gloomy morning needs a little livening up. Cue a menagerie of animals, a touch of nature, dramatic make-up, a few words of wisdom, some delicious architecture, and generous amounts of black & white. How’s that for a morning pick-me-up? (Plus I sneaked in a bit of Elijah Wood for ya. You’re welcome. ;)

13th September 2011 in Miscellaneous

This is a koala appreciation post. Why? Because they’re super duper cute and I want to have one (or maybe 50) to love and hold and cuddle for always and forever. I looooove them. I loved them a regular and healthy amount before I went to Australia as I’d only ever seen one on television or in a picture. When I saw my first koala in person, the floodgates opened and out poured a waterfall of “Awww!! ♥ ♥”s. For serious, little hearts exploded from my eyeballs like a cartoon character. Regular and healthy amount of love for koalas now? Not so much. More like borderline obsession. So if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to indulge in a little cuteness overload of one of my favourite animals.
