Well, ladies and gents, by the time you’ll be reading this, I will be long gone. That’s right, today’s the day I leave on my cross country trek to the east coast to my brand new apartment! So excited! Though is it technically considered cross country if I’m only going from Toronto to the east? It sounds a little more epic when I say cross country though. Either way you slice it, it’s still a solid two day drive so I’ve got lots of time and road ahead of me!

In my absence (since I probably won’t be online again for at least a week), I have a few posts scheduled as well as a few guest posts by some lovely friends as well. ♥ So enjoy, and see you all soon! xo.

Taking a mini-side step from the usual tonight to get a few thoughts out…

I’ve been pondering a lot lately on the blogging universe, and on what blogging really means to me. In a way, it’s kind of molded me, and it’s turned me into a much more positive, optimistic and self-assured person. I’ve always been blogging in one capacity or another since I first discovered the wonders of this online world. I may not be a self-proclaimed writer, but I enjoy sharing my loves and reading about others’. It wasn’t really until last year, approximately around the same time that my plans to study interior design became solidified that I really found my ‘blog calling’, if you will. My educational and blogging paths have intertwined so closely these last few months, and together, they’ve helped me learn so many new things about myself, and to grow as a person. Both have taught me to voice my opinions without fear and have helped me find my inner confidence. Those who know me outside of the internet know that I’m terribly shy and introverted, but I think that both having a blog and studying in such a highly creative field have opened me up and made me less afraid of showing myself to the world.
I’m ready and happy to let my mind open up and expand itself to its largest possible capacity. And I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid of someone judging what I like, or what I do. Finally, I feel like I’m shedding that anxiety of constantly needing the approval of others . I’m learning to trust myself and my instincts, and I’m learning to become a better version of me.
Out of curiosity, what has blogging helped you discover about yourself? Do you think you would be the same person you are today if you hadn’t started a blog?

Painting… oh, so much painting. After I finish this class, if I never touch a paint brush ever again, it will be too soon. Gouache is the spawn of satan. (Okay, maybe that’s harsh. But I do not like it. At all.)
Planning… out the layout of my new apartment. Insert excited bounce here! You know you’re a designer when playing around with little furniture cut-outs is the most fun you’ve had in weeks.
Missing… my dad. He’s away for two months at Harvard (!) in Boston being a smarty pants.
Longing… oh, so desperately to see A Single Man. It seems that the movie universe is working against me, and the longer I have to wait to see it, the more I crave it.
Considering… dyeing my hair white blonde. So pretty. If I knew it wouldn’t destroy my hair and require very dedicated upkeep, I’d do it in an instant.

Hear ye, hear ye! I have a small favour to ask of you, dear readers. As I’m sure you already know based on my incessant gushing, I’m moving at the end of May. With only 4 weeks left before the cross-country trek to my new home, I’ve begun getting things in order offline, and now it is time to determine the fate of this here blog. (Dun dun duuun!) With a 2 day drive to my new place, a few days to spend unpacking and organizing, the adjusting period, and the inevitable week or so I will probably be without internet, my dear blog is going to be in need of some love in my absence. And that, my lovely readers, is where I must turn to you for help.

Watching… copious amounts of movies! It’s been a bit of a movie marathon month. A few favourites include Brothers, Elvis & Anabelle, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Shutter Island, and Alice in Wonderland (2010).
Puppysitting… my aunt and uncle’s dog again! She’s the most adorable thing ever, and I love her to death. She’s my new BFF. ♥
Wondering… as I frequently do, what the best category on Bloglovin’ is for this blog. I never know! None of the categories are exactly what I want, so I stick with “Design”… but it doesn’t feel right. Thoughts anyone? What would you categorize this blog as? I’m drawing a complete blank.
Eating… yummy fruit trifle. Delicious!
Listening… repeatedly to the new Goldfrapp and She & Him albums. Both are amazing! ♥
