9th March 2012 in Colour, Photography

For my long-time readers and blog buddies, it’s very easy to associate me with white. I love white. It’s my colour soul mate. If I were to live with one colour for the rest of my life, white would be it. Despite this oh so profound love affair, I do love me some bright colours without a doubt. You see, white is my obsession, but rainbow is my favourite colour. White or all the colours, that’s how I like it folks.

This is all just a long winded, and slightly off-topic/rambley, way to say that I’m majorly, majorly, super duper in love with these delicious looking tarts in all the shades of the Pantone rainbow. Check yes for mouthwatering. Check yes for rainbow lovin’! I’ll have a 7492c and a glass of orange juice, please and thank you.

9th February 2012 in Interiors

Can we briefly talk about how stinkin’ badly I want to live in this modern Scandinavian white and rainbow infused apartment? Because, um, hello lover. It’s a DREAM. All caps necessary. It’s like a bright and fluffy white ice cream cloud of perfection with dollops of artful rainbow sprinkles throughout. Delish.

Despite my all-consuming slightly-borderline-frightening obsession with white, it’s the vibrantly coloured abstract art that give this interior its unique jolt of personality. It’s spaces like these that make my constant inner battle of “all white” versus “rainbow bright” a real war of the design personalities. Seriously, I think I have like… design bipolarity or something. Scary stuff, you guys.

Jokes aside, I love this apartment to pieces – from the white-washed architecture, and sleek, modern materials, to the rustic, knotty wood floors, playful light fixtures, and Tollix dining chairs. When can I move in?

P.S. Have you checked out my new blog, k., yet? My second post is up and involves a bit of serenading, a looot of doodling, and a hint of photography. Enticed?

How about a little bit of neon to brighten up the start of the week? Yes, please! Never under estimate the revitalizing/energy-infusing powers of colour. And if the regular rainbow ain’t quite doin’ the trick, crank’er up a notch to neon bright! That’ll put a little extra spring in your step. In the same way I went giddy for those extra special neon crayons that came with the extra special 64 pack of crayons, my inner child is getting some major squealy feelings on about all this neon coming back into fashion. Three cheers for colours so bright it’s like an 80′s cartoon married a rainbow hopped up on radioactive chemicals… and then exploded. (In the fun sort of way.) Three cheers for neon! Hip-horray!

2nd October 2011 in Art, Colour

Hi, I’m Krissy. And I’m an organisation obsessed fiend. (Hi, Krissy.) It’s been 48 hours since my last rearranging, cleaning, organising spree. Oh, who am I kidding? I love being a hyper organised neat freak. There are few things I love more than neatly arranged items. So it was a happy accident when I stumbled upon the website Kontor Kontur. It’s actually the home base of three ladies working in graphic, product and interior design, but I was stopped dead in my tracks simply at their homepage alone. It features a series of rotating photographs of neatly organized collections by colour. Cool and beans!

28th September 2011 in Fashion

Sometimes I dream about pastel coloured hair. Sugar sweet cotton candy shades of rose, lavender, mint, tangerine. It’s a strange attraction. I know I could never pull it off, nor would I ever even try it, but that doesn’t stop me from daydreaming a little bit. And then I get off on tangents about living in a Candyland meets Care Bears meets My Little Pony fantasy land. Almost sickeningly sweet. But it’s just so darn cheery looking, that part of me still wants candy coloured hair.
