Enjoying… my few short weeks of summer vacation before they slip away yet again.
Reading… The Piano Teacher by Janice Y.K. Lee. I’ve been such a slacker with reading this year and had initially started this back in January. Appalling, really. But I’ve started setting more time aside to enjoy my old favourite hobby this month. Next on my list is Jane Eyre.
Eating… cinnamon buns by the plenty! It’s hard to resist when they’re freshly baked and smell so tasty!
Painting… my numerous unfinished canvases I plan to hang in my apartment. My previous stance on painting has been less than enthusiastic, but it’s quite enjoyable when you’re not forced into it.
Flying… out to Ontario to visit my parents for a week. I just got home last night, hence this belated post.

Listening… (and quite obsessively, might I add) to the new Sia and Stars albums. Both have been on constant repeat in iTunes the entire month. I can’t tear myself away from them!
Cooking… myself the most delicious shrimp and snow pea pasta. Perhaps there’s hope for me and my cooking skills yet.
Hanging… pictures on my walls. My apartment is slowly looking less like a disaster zone and more like a home. Once I get all my furniture, I promise I will post pictures.
Wearing… my favourite black and white ikat skirt. I love it so and wear it perhaps a little too often.
Anticipating… August 11th, the end of my summer semester and the beginning of 2.5 glorious school-free weeks. I can’t wait!

Playing… my brand new piano! I love it to pieces. I’ve also found a tonne of Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple and Tori Amos sheets online that I’ve been playing night and day.
Drinking… peach iced tea and pink lemonade by the gallon. The perfect summer refreshments!
Falling… more and more in love with my city every day. ♥
Listening… to lots and lots of Trespasser’s William. Their music is positively divine. See exhibit A: Lie in the Sound, B: Alone, and C: Weakening. I’ve also been listening to lots of Peter Broderick, The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie and Charlotte Gainsbourg this month.
Spending… every free minute I can spare in the company of friends.

I realize I only just posted a Head Over Heels entry on Tuesday, but I had so so many things that I’m madly in love with at the moment, that they ended up spilling over into a second post. Voila, part 2!

Mia Wasikowska
Because I feel a girl crush forming… she’s so lovely. I really enjoyed watching her in Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Amelia (wasn’t expecting her there, so it was a pleasant surprise!).

Artwork by Michelle Aramas
Because I’m very inspired by abstract paintings these days, and hers have such dreamy colour palettes.
