My new macaron obsession knows no bounds. Plus, it seems to be following me everywhere. I stumbled upon a few of the photos of the interior of Theurel and Thomas’ Masion du Macaron patisserie while searching images for my initial macaron love declaration post; then I eyed a few more doing research at my internship; and then the shop was featured on a blog I read. Coincidence? I think not. Now I wonder what this is trying to tell me… That I should drop everything and open my own little macaron shop? Baring the fact that I cannot bake to save my life, count me in! The romantic in me would be in absolute heaven. Plus how fun would it be to design a little patisserie? That’s the dream, my friends. Like I’ve said on a few occasions, I really want to get into hospitality design, but I’d loooove to be able to design cute little shops like these in addition to boutique hotels! And this little macaron shop is riiight up my alley, it’s practically my next door neighhour!

Are you all suffering from Harry Potter overload just yet? I sure hope not! And for my readers who aren’t Harry Potter fans, I sincerely apologize that I’m dedicating another post to the boy who lived so soon after my last. None the less, whether you’re a fan of the books and/or movies or not, I hope you’ll be find the graphic design work I’m about to show you inspiring. Because Potter or no Potter, I think these are beautiful stand-alone pieces of art work and can be enjoyed no matter your stance on teenage wizards. Besides, it’s not so much the subject matter that counts here, it’s the artistry. So I hope that you’ll find these as inspiring as I do.
Okie dokie, enough exposition. Onto the goods! Graphic designer Patrick Sullivan, for his student portfolio, created a collection of DVD covers for the Harry Potter series. And they’re pretty darn amazing. You might even be inclined to say they’re magical.

Can you excuse me for today while I share something a little bit ridiculous and somewhat “off-topic”? I’m having one of those moments where I find everything and the kitchen sink positively hilarious, and so things I would normally find a regular amount of funny, I find to be absolutely hysterical today. Enter Pokemon&Fashion: a tumblr blog where the author’s “two worlds collide”. Those worlds being – you guessed it – Pokemon (those adorable [sometimes] little video game critters with magical abilities and names that sound a bit like gibberish) and fashion (editorials and advertising campaign images). The blog’s creator takes fashion editorials and plops in, with the wonders of Photoshop, a little Pokemon that fits in with the scenery, mood or look of the image. And it’s really, really funny. Loud of loud funny. Trust me. It’s had me chuckling all morning. Comedy gold, my friends.

As I find myself starting to fall for the many charms of lovely Sydney, Australia, I foresee a bit of a battle on the horizon between my long-time beloved Canada and new crush Australia. I’m sure once August rolls around, there’ll be some real heart-string tugging going on around these parts. I don’t see this decision ending well.

If you’ve ever heard of the blog Paris vs New York City, you’ll know just what I’m talking about… pitting two beautiful cities against one another. The anonymous artist behind this blog produces side-by-side graphic comparisons between each city juxtaposing signature landmarks, foods, personalities and more.
